Economics and Finance
Economics, one of the most important members of the social sciences family, deals with the material aspects of social life. Economics which analyzes the economic relations such as production, consumption and distribution that exist in every society historically and technically, is the most powerful social science in terms of using mathematical and statistical research methods most intensively and effectively. Because of this feature, it is said that economics is the “queen of social sciences”.
In addition to the technical dimension, it is closely linked to other social disciplines such as economics, anthropology, history, sociology, psychology and philosophy, as it is also related to the formation and development processes of social organizations.
The fact that the research object of economics is economic relations in society and the multidimensional nature of these relations require that the research method of science also be pluralistic. For this reason, a curriculum reflecting the pluralist understanding has been designed. Our students will have the capacity to analyze past economic relations with their technical and historical-sociological dimensions on the one hand and produce solutions to the complex economic problems of the present and the future on the other.
